Chapter 52
“Director Hart… Tony…” She took a deep breath, her expression shy as she murmured, “You misunderstood me last time. I’ve never looked at other men. Perhaps you don’t know, but from the moment I saw you at Old Master Hart’s birthday celebration, it was love at first sight. I fell for you uncontrollably…”
She took a step closer to him, her eyes filled with both sorrow and shyness. Just as she was about to reach him, he suddenly asked, “Miss Hay, do you want me to give you another warning?”
He slowly took out a cigarette and lit it, his demeanor as cold as an iceberg compared to her passionate advances.
“I know you must be angry at me for not understanding my employee’s character. But if you delete that picture, Tony, everything can still be salvaged. Tony—”
“Who gave you permission to call my name?” Tony exhaled a puff of smoke, and when he turned to face her, there was clear annoyance in his eyes.
His alluring gaze was the very thing that had drawn Sasha to him. Biting her lip, she said, “Yesterday, Old Master Hart said… he likes me a lot…”
Tony’s eyes narrowed dangerously, and he suddenly chuckled softly—though there was no trace of humor in it. “Miss Hay, I was the one who had someone take that picture of Miss Stark working.”
Following his gaze, Sasha looked at the picture again, unsure of what he meant.
Tony reclined in his chair, his handsome features framed by the smoke, making it impossible for her to look away.
“What do you mean?” she asked quietly.
“I’m sure you’ve suspected that Miss Stark and I share a relationship we keep private,” Tony said flatly.
Sasha’s expression immediately shifted. It was true that Myra always received special treatment from the Hart Group. Like this time, even when everyone believed she had plagiarized someone else’s work, Director Hart had still gone to great lengths to clear her name!
Sasha froze, her breath catching in her throat. She tried to stay calm. “Everything is not confirmed yet,” she reminded herself. “Don’t jump to conclusions. Maybe Myra is just being bold and trying to seduce Director Hart.”
Watching her change of expression, Tony’s lips curled into a smile, though it was cold. He spoke in a voice that shattered all her hopes. “Miss Stark keeps rejecting me, but I’m the one who wants her.”
I’m the one who wants her…
Sasha froze, disbelief flashing in her eyes as she looked at the man before her.
“Are you out of your mind? Myra is a married woman!” she exclaimed, her voice rising in shock.
“So what?” Tony took another drag from his cigarette before snuffing it out in the nearby ashtray. His gaze when he turned back to her was indifferent. “Let me give you another warning—don’t try to harm her. Otherwise… you wouldn’t want to see what happens to the Hay Group.”
Sasha’s body trembled with anger. “Tony Hart, how dare you threaten me?”
She had originally planned to make him hers, but despite the rumors that he was a monk, uninterested in any woman, he would rather fall for a married woman than spare her a second glance.
Every time she thought back to how he had humiliated her, her hatred for Myra grew.
At that time, Myra was just near Director Hart’s room. I’m sure he said those words just for her to hear!
However, seeing Tony’s dark expression made Sasha shiver. She knew that with his power, he could carry out his threat without hesitation.
Well done, Myra.
“Tony, I did not expect you to stoop so low! But I’m sorry to inform you, Myra loves my cousin deeply, so it’s impossible for her to fall for you! To her, all your efforts are worth nothing!”
“Is that so?” Tony wasn’t angered by her words; it seemed as though they didn’t matter to him at all, which only made Sasha more furious.
“Please remember to publish an official statement, Miss Hay,” he reminded her, a cold smile on his lips. “And I regret to inform you that there will be no future business between the Hart Group and the Hay Group.”
Sasha’s fury surged within her, nearly overwhelming her, but she did her best to control it and stormed out of the room, grabbing her cardigan as she left.
Two minutes later, Leo informed Myra that Tony had chosen the Chase Group to handle the Sunny Bay Project. He also asked her to make preparations before returning to the Hart Group to sign the contract.
A warm sensation filled Myra’s chest—a feeling she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Yet, there was an unsettling conflict within her, given that the warmth came from someone she barely knew.
As she stood near the door to Tony’s office, a sudden wave of anxiety washed over her for no reason. Without even thanking Leo, she left the Hart Group.
Ten minutes later, Leo entered Tony’s office, reporting respectfully, “Director Hart, the hotel called. They confirmed that Miss Hay has requested to see the footage from the surveillance cameras from when we stayed there a few days ago.”
At first, he hadn’t understood why Tony had requested that specific footage. After witnessing the events earlier that day, however, he finally grasped Tony’s intentions—he had deliberately provoked Sasha.
He’s too clever! Miss Stark needs to pray for her own safety now…
Tony stood up casually and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows before replying indifferently, “Alright.”
His thoughts drifted back to the feeling of Myra’s hand in his the previous day.
He didn’t want to see her suffer, but he also didn’t want the distance between them to remain.
After Sasha left the Hart Group, she immediately called the hotel and requested to see the footage from outside Myra’s room. She knew better than to reveal her true intentions, fearing the hotel might inform Tony. If that happened, it would cause trouble for the Hay family. Since Myra’s room was next to Tony’s, Sasha figured she could obtain the same results by requesting Myra’s footage.
As she watched the footage, her lips curled into a cold smile when she saw Myra running out of Tony’s room, disheveled.
Now it all makes sense. I was wondering how Myra is so capable! She’s managed to make Director Hart fall for her so deeply that he gave the Hay Group such a serious warning. And now, she’s even humiliated me in front of him. We’re going to be the laughingstock of the industry because of her! I can’t accept this!
Sasha continued to seethe in anger, her mind racing with plans to get back at Myra. Despite knowing that she couldn’t escalate things publicly, she decided to tell Sean about everything.
A cruel, unreadable expression appeared on Sasha’s face as she stared at the footage.
Meanwhile, as soon as Myra returned to the office, Tilly hurried over to her. “Miss Stark, how did everything go?”
Before Myra could respond, Elsie walked up to them, her anxiety from earlier now replaced with a gleeful tone. “Myra, do you still have the courage to go back to Chase Group? I bet you’re just here to gather your things before you leave!”
Myra shot Tilly a warning look, urging her to stay calm, then turned her attention to Elsie, tightening her grip on her phone.
She locked eyes with Elsie, her gaze firm and decisive, which only made Elsie angrier. “Why are you looking at me like that? It’s not like I can change the outcome!”
