When His Love Turned Cruel(131)

Chapter 131

Chapter Title: “A Twist of Fate”

“For my sake?” “Of course!” Estelle exclaimed, her voice dripping with disbelief. She stared at Myra, still struggling to grasp how this simple, almost naïve woman had somehow managed to wrap Tony around her finger. “Don’t you know when Tony came back to take over the Hart Group?” “Wasn’t that two months ago?” Myra responded, already aware of the timeline. “Exactly!” Estelle shook her head, a knowing smirk playing on her lips. “Now, try to remember when the Sunny Bay Project started.” Myra thought for a moment before answering, “Two months ago.” “Well, that’s the key, isn’t it?” Estelle’s eyes gleamed. “From that, it’s obvious Tony fell for you during the Sunny Bay Project. After that, he decided to settle down in Bradfort City and expand his business here. That’s why he moved the company back from the U.S. to here. It all makes sense now.”

Though Myra wasn’t sure Tony would make such a huge decision for a woman he had only known for a month, Estelle’s assumptions melted her heart in a way she couldn’t deny.

Estelle’s gaze softened as she glanced at Myra, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes. “I know you’re in the ‘honeymoon phase,’ but do you really need to provoke me like this? You look completely dazed, like a woman who’s drunk on love. Tony’s got you in his grasp now, doesn’t he?”

Then, as though an idea had struck her, Estelle grinned broadly. “So, have you two… done it last night?” Her voice held a teasing edge, her gaze moving from Myra’s face to her body, and back again, making Myra blush furiously.

“Estelle, stop joking around!” Myra snapped, glaring at her friend.

“I’m serious!” Estelle chuckled, her tone light but a little too knowing. “We’re all adults here, right? It’s only natural when a man and a woman spend time together. And besides, Tony’s a virgin at 35. I bet he must’ve pushed you to your limits, am I right? Want me to buy you some books or maybe a few courses to help you? It’d make things easier when you’re—”

“Estelle!” Myra interrupted, visibly embarrassed now. She grabbed a pillow and threw it at Estelle in frustration. “Enough already!”

“Oh, come on! I’m just trying to help you out here. I’m sure you two must’ve—” Estelle’s eyes darted down to Myra’s swollen lips before her thoughts took a different, more scandalous turn. Looks like the Hart brothers have a thing for playing rough… but how does Myra handle it?

Meanwhile, Myra’s thoughts were far from Estelle’s suggestive musings. She blushed deeply, recalling how Tony had asked for her help, both last night and this morning. She glared at Estelle and stormed off toward her bedroom.

“Hey, don’t be mad! I was only joking!” Estelle called out, though she couldn’t help but smile at the playful discomfort she’d caused.

As Myra retreated, Estelle picked up her phone and dialed a contact. “Hello, Shay. You mentioned you had a new batch of… toys in stock? Are they still available? Send me a box. I’ll text you the address later.”

After hanging up, Estelle eagerly sent the address, making sure Myra’s name was listed as the recipient. She was already imagining Myra’s reaction when the delivery arrived.

Not long after, a phone began to ring, but it wasn’t Estelle’s. She noticed Myra’s purse on the couch and couldn’t resist a little mischief. Stealthily, she grabbed Myra’s phone, easily unlocked it, and saw a message: “I’ll pick you up at 6:00 PM.”

Oh, I know exactly who that is from! Estelle couldn’t help but giggle.

She quickly sent a cheeky reply: “My dear, in that case, I’ll be waiting for you at home. Pick me up on time! XOXO 💋” She added the air-kiss emoticon just to make it sound more flirtatious.

When she heard Myra coming out of the room, Estelle quickly deleted the message and put the phone back in Myra’s purse.

“Myra, did my phone ring just now?” Estelle asked, pretending to be busy on her own phone.

Myra, distracted, seemed to barely notice. “No, it was mine,” Estelle added, her voice casual.

“Oh, okay,” Myra replied, distracted as she headed to her room to change.

Estelle checked her phone, reading a message she had just received: “Miss Langley, the goods have been shipped. Please remind your friend to accept the delivery.”

A sinister smile spread across Estelle’s face as she read the text.

Meanwhile, someone else was receiving news that would shift their emotions in the opposite direction.

After obtaining their marriage certificate at the Civil Affairs Bureau, Lyla returned to the Chase Group. She was eager to finalize the deal with a supposed VIP client. When the client sent a group of assistants instead of a direct representative, she wasn’t deterred. The contract was signed quickly, and a large sum was reflected in the Chase Group’s accounts, much to her excitement.

As the group exited the building, Lyla’s phone rang. It was her agent, Sofia, and the panic in her voice was unmistakable.

“Lyla, we have a problem. Remember how the Hart Group wanted you as the ambassador for the Sunny Bay Project? Well, they’re canceling it. They’ve chosen Estelle instead.”

Lyla froze. “What? Are you sure? Is this a mistake?”

“It’s true. The Hart Group just held a press conference for the Sunny Bay Project. They confirmed that Estelle is the ambassador now. When a reporter asked about you, the person in charge said that they would no longer be working with you, and that both the Hart and Hartwell Groups have blacklisted you from future ads.”

Lyla felt a rush of disbelief. “That can’t be true! I’ve spoken with Director Hart. He wouldn’t do this to me!”

She ended the call, fury rising within her. Sean, who had been waiting for her outside the conference room, caught her eye. He calmly asked, “Lyla, since when are you acquainted with Director Hart?”

Lyla felt a cold wave wash over her as she turned to face him. She hadn’t expected him to overhear her conversation, and now, his calm demeanor only made her anxiety grow.
