When His Love Turned Cruel(132)

Chapter 132

Chapter Title: Shifting Currents

“For my sake?” Myra asked, her voice soft with disbelief. “Of course!” Estelle’s eyes widened in surprise as she stared at Myra, who seemed oblivious to the situation. Estelle couldn’t believe how someone so simple had Tony wrapped around her finger. “Didn’t you know? Tony only came back to Bradfort City to take over the Hart Group.” “Isn’t that two months ago?” Myra replied, clearly unaware of the full context. “Exactly!” Estelle nodded vigorously. “And it was around the same time the Sunny Bay Project started. Have you thought about that?” Myra paused, trying to recall the timeline. “Yes, it started two months ago too.” “Right! So, based on that, he must have fallen for you during the Sunny Bay Project. After that, he decided to stay here and expand his business, which is why he moved the company back to Bradfort City. Isn’t that the obvious conclusion?”

Despite herself, Myra felt a rush of warmth at Estelle’s reasoning. Even if she didn’t fully believe Tony would make such a huge decision for a woman he’d only known for a month, the thought touched her.

Estelle’s gaze softened for a moment before she grinned mischievously. “Look at you, Myra. You’re so deep in the infatuation phase that it’s almost embarrassing. If you keep going on like this, Tony will have you completely under his spell.”

She paused, her expression turning sly as she looked Myra up and down. “Speaking of which, have you two… well… done it?” Estelle’s tone became suggestive, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

Myra’s face went crimson. “Estelle! Stop it!” she snapped, her voice flustered as she glared at her friend. “Oh, come on. I’m just teasing you!” Estelle laughed, clearly enjoying Myra’s discomfort. “We’re adults, right? What’s the harm in discussing this? I mean, Tony’s thirty-five and still a virgin. I bet last night was… intense. Did he push you to your limits?”

Myra’s face flushed even deeper, and her mind began to race. Estelle’s words were too much, but they were also hard to ignore. “Estelle, that’s enough,” she muttered, her voice thick with embarrassment.

“Alright, alright,” Estelle relented with a smirk. “I’ll stop, but I do have a suggestion for you.”

She then looked at Myra’s lips—swollen from their earlier encounter—and her eyes widened in realization. A flash of thought crossed her mind, followed by a wicked grin.

“Hey, I’m just trying to help!” Estelle continued, clearly enjoying Myra’s discomfort. “I could buy you a book, or even a few CDs. Maybe even enroll you in a course. That way, when you and Tony—well, when you do it again, you’ll be prepared. You know, to avoid… suffering.”

Myra grabbed a pillow from the couch and threw it at Estelle. “Enough!” she growled. “Oh, come on! I’m doing this for your own good!” Estelle laughed, unbothered as the pillow hit her with little force. She glanced at Myra’s phone, noticing a message notification pop up.

“Oh!” Estelle’s eyes gleamed as she swiftly grabbed the phone from Myra’s purse, entering the passcode with practiced ease. She looked at the screen: ‘I’ll pick you up at 6:00 PM.’ Her grin widened, and she quickly typed a reply, making sure it was as suggestive as possible: ‘My dear, in that case, you will have to pick me up right on time. I’ll be waiting for you at home. XOXO 😘’

She added the kiss emoji for emphasis and felt quite proud of her wit. Just as she was about to send the message, she heard Myra’s footsteps approaching. Estelle panicked, quickly deleting the text before placing the phone back in Myra’s purse.

“Did my phone ring just now?” Myra asked, emerging from her room, looking slightly distracted.

“Nope,” Estelle replied casually, not even glancing at her. “It was my phone, not yours.” “Oh, okay,” Myra muttered, heading to her room to change. Estelle, still grinning, checked her own phone, where a new message had arrived. ‘Miss Langley, the goods have been sent out. Please remind your friend to accept the delivery.’

Her grin twisted into something more mischievous as she plotted her next move.

Meanwhile, far from Estelle’s playful scheming, Lyla’s phone rang urgently. Her agent’s voice was frantic as she delivered news that made Lyla’s heart drop. The Hart Group had revoked her role as the ambassador for the Sunny Bay Project. Estelle, not her, had been chosen instead. Worse still, the Hart Group announced that they would never invite her to work with them again.

“No… that can’t be true,” Lyla muttered, disbelief clouding her thoughts. She quickly dialed Tony’s number, but it went unanswered. “I know Tony! He wouldn’t do this.”

Her mind raced with confusion, but there was one thing she was certain of: something was happening behind the scenes that she didn’t understand.

Meanwhile, in Tony’s office, he sat calmly in his chair, eyes narrowing slightly at the sound of Myra’s voice repeating on his phone, “You are handsome. The most handsome one! You are unbelievably handsome!” Each time it played, his colleagues exchanged uncomfortable glances.

“You really need to change that ringtone,” Elliot commented, though it was clear from the smile on his face that he found it amusing. Tony, however, simply raised an eyebrow. His thoughts were elsewhere, distracted by the playful text from Myra and the situation with Lyla.

“Forget about her,” Tony muttered, the flick of a lighter in his hand signaling his disinterest. “Let her handle things herself for now.”

The chapter continues with more intricate developments and interactions between Myra, Estelle, and Lyla. Tony, too, seems to be involved in deeper, more calculated decisions than anyone realizes, setting the stage for future conflicts.
