Chapter 130
Chapter: Myra’s Confusion and Tony’s Unabashed Charm
Tony’s eyes sparkled with mischief, his smile playful, but Myra remained oblivious to his silent amusement. Without warning, he took her phone from her hand and quickly typed a message in the group chat.
Myra: “Sorry, but my weekend is reserved for Myra. I can only return to the Hart Residence with her permission.”
After sending the message, Tony closed the Messenger app and handed the phone back to Myra. She noticed the app had been closed and sighed in mild annoyance.
“I didn’t get to see what everyone else said,” Myra complained, her tone a mix of curiosity and slight frustration.
Tony raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes twinkling as he leaned closer. He kissed her forehead tenderly, his gaze meeting hers with an intensity that made her heart race.
“What’s there to look at? It’s more than enough as long as you’re looking at me,” he teased, his voice soft and confident.
Myra was left speechless. Was he truly this shameless? His boldness left her flustered, and she found herself unable to respond. He simply held her hand as they made their way into the restaurant.
After dinner, Tony drove Myra back to her condominium. As they arrived, Myra began to open the car door, but she was halted by the weight of his gaze on her. She turned back to him, her cheeks tinged with pink. Without thinking, she cupped his face gently and pressed a quick kiss to the corner of his lips.
“Bye!” she murmured, ready to escape the intensity of his gaze.
But before she could pull away, Tony caught her arm and stopped her. His expression was playful yet commanding, his smile now softer, as though he was no longer the intense man she usually saw in public. His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer until she could feel the heat of his body against hers.
“Is that all?” he asked, his voice low with amusement.
Myra’s heart skipped a beat, a strange mix of annoyance and attraction bubbling inside her. He’s enjoying this way too much, she thought. But her body betrayed her; she couldn’t help but feel the warmth of his embrace.
She bit her lip, trying to pull herself together. “This afternoon, I helped you with…” Myra faltered, suddenly feeling shy. She couldn’t finish her sentence, her hands nervously fiddling with the strap of her purse, her skin burning under his touch.
Tony’s eyes gleamed with mischief as he leaned in closer, his breath warm against her ear. “What did you think I had in mind, huh?” he whispered, his voice a playful tease that sent shivers down her spine.
Myra felt her body stiffen for a moment, but it quickly relaxed as she melted into his presence. His gaze was all-encompassing, and she could no longer deny the effect he had on her. Even the faintest smile from him made her heart race.
Before she knew it, his lips were on hers again, more demanding this time, a fierce passion behind the kiss that left her breathless. His kiss was both tender and possessive, a reflection of his nature—gentle yet overpowering. Myra’s thoughts scattered as his kiss deepened, the world around her fading until there was nothing but him.
Tony finally pulled away, his forehead resting against hers. His voice was rough, his tone full of urgency. “Quickly head up,” he murmured.
Myra, still dazed from the intensity of their kiss, could barely process his words. She blinked up at him, trying to regain some semblance of composure.
“Huh?” she managed to say, still lost in the moment.
Tony chuckled softly, his eyes softening as he looked at her innocent expression. She looked almost adorable, like a puppy who didn’t quite understand the situation. With a final, lingering kiss, he let her go, but not before giving her a playful warning.
“Leave now, or you won’t be leaving at all,” he teased, his voice full of mischief.
Myra, her lips swollen and her cheeks flushed, hurriedly exited the car, only to have Tony catch her hand once more. Their fingers intertwined, and she couldn’t help but blush even deeper.
“I’ll pick you up tonight,” he said, his voice tender yet firm, as though it were a promise.
Myra’s heart fluttered at his words, and the heat in her cheeks spread down to her neck. She hesitated, looking at him with uncertainty, but he refused to release her hand.
With a small sigh, she muttered a soft “Yeah,” before quickly turning away, desperate to escape his intense gaze.
Tony smiled faintly, releasing her hand with a gentle, almost reluctant touch. He watched as she fled into the building, her hurried steps only making him smile more.
Myra couldn’t help but laugh nervously to herself as she ran toward the elevator. She knew she was in trouble—she had no defense against Tony’s relentless charm. As the elevator doors opened and she stepped inside, she tried to calm the rapid beating of her heart, but the effect he had on her lingered, a constant reminder of how helpless she was in his presence.
The moment the elevator doors opened to her floor, a loud voice rang out, startling Myra.
“Myra, why are your cheeks so red?!”
She froze, taking an instinctive step back, before looking up to see Estelle eyeing her with a mischievous grin. Estelle looked her over, scanning for signs of something out of the ordinary.
Her gaze stopped at Myra’s lips, and a knowing smile crept onto Estelle’s face. “Hey, you! Spill the beans. Did Director Hart send you back just now? You were supposed to be getting a divorce this morning. How did you two end up together so quickly?”
Myra’s cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red as Estelle hit the nail on the head. Trying to hide her embarrassment, Myra stepped into the condo. “Why are you here?” she asked, hoping to change the subject.
“I’m here for a holiday,” Estelle said casually, tossing her hair and acting like she owned the place. She patted Myra’s shoulder, teasing her. “Don’t change the topic. Are you two a couple now?”
Myra, not one to hide the truth from her best friend, nodded in response.
“Hahaha!” Estelle burst into laughter, practically leaping into the living room the moment the door opened. She changed into her flip-flops and flopped onto the couch, grinning from ear to ear. “I told you you’d end up together, didn’t I? You two make a perfect pair! Myra, you’re quick! I have to say, you’re the only one in Bradfort City who could land a better man than your ex right after a divorce!”
Myra couldn’t help but smile, but she didn’t comment further. She knew she was lucky—Tony’s confession that day in the hotel had changed everything for her. Without him, she might not have been the woman she was now, ready to face her new life.
Estelle suddenly became more serious. “By the way, did you hear? The Hart Group officially sent me an invitation for an advertisement. That means Lyla doesn’t stand a chance. Tony has also announced that neither the Hart nor Hartwell Group will work with her again in the future!”
Myra was surprised, but a smile tugged at her lips. This was exactly what she had hoped for. Estelle was grinning widely, clearly delighted by the news.
“That’s amazing,” Myra said softly, but her mind wandered back to something else. The Hart Group’s influence, the business decisions Tony was making—it was all a lot to digest.
As if reading her thoughts, Estelle shrugged nonchalantly. “Don’t worry about that. Shawn told me that Tony started winding down his business in the U.S. about a month ago. He’s merging everything into the Hart Group here in Bradfort City.”
Myra nodded, though she wasn’t fully familiar with the business intricacies.
“Don’t be so cold about it!” Estelle scolded, noticing Myra’s distant expression. “Shawn didn’t pay much attention to it at first, but now he gets it. Tony’s doing all this for your sake!”
